October
26, 2007 -- DISTRICTS
Post-season is
always an amazing time! It is a weekend full of love, laughter, fun,
memories, successes, lessons, and of course volleyball! The Lady Lions did
an awesome job putting together some great volleyball matches and playing as a
team. They ended their season unified...just as they had started it.
That is, more than anything, the biggest success of our season! It is
amazing to watch these girls in action - they are wonderful young ladies who are
nice to each other, who support each other, and who accept one another while on
the court together...and that is special. We are so proud of the girls for
putting their hearts and souls into this volleyball season and for remaining
strong through the end. It has been amazing to watch the transformation
from the beginning till now as the girls have come so far!
Ladies...remember what I said in the locker room at the end of our day Friday:
your time will come -- it may not have been this year, it may not be for a few
years, but yes...YOUR time will come! This season is a part of who you
are...and it will be forever. And there is something from this season that
will change your life. Open your eyes to the possibilities of this amazing
gift of life that we've been given...and know with confidence that those who
wait on the Lord will have many wonderful things!!!
We love you ladies...so very much!
Congrats on a very good season which was filled with so many memories!!!

October
18 and 20, 2007 -- Brighton Collegiate and Nederland -- Away Matches
The last two
matches of our 2007 regular season were certainly filled with great
moments. The girls have done a great job of learning around every corner
and applying the lessons throughout the season. As with any match, new
learning comes and both teams learned some valuable lessons in the last two
times on the court. From these experiences, though, the girls have become
better and stronger and more unified. The JV ended their season on a very
solid note with two wins to make their final record 14 and 4!! We are so
very proud of you girls...this season has been amazing and watching you guys
improve from day one to now is nothing short of INCREDIBLE!! The
transformation you guys have made is one for the record books! Congrats on
a great season and we are excited to see what next year brings!
The Varsity has done good things on the court and should be very
proud of themselves for the season that they have had. This weekend was
the end of the regular season and they finished 2007 with a winning record for
the first time in LHSP Volleyball history! The girls also are looking
forward to an amazing Postseason as this year holds so many possibilities!
So, as you Lady Lions move forward into Districts Week, keep in mind the lessons
from the season, put your best efforts forward, and EXPECT from yourselves GREAT
things! Let's enjoy our Postseason together and make some MEMORIES!!!

October
16, 2007 -- Campion Academy -- Home Match
**SENIOR NIGHT**
We had so many
reasons to celebrate tonight and that was our focus as we played these
matches. We were celebrating our God of Miracles...as He has shown us His
power and His goodness!! We were celebrating the good news of our two
friends Mitch and Henry. We were celebrating our final home game of the
2007 season. We were celebrating our Seniors as they played volleyball for
the last time at the LHSP gym. We were celebrating our unity as a team as
we have come together to conquer adversity.
As we took the court, the girls found their determination and it
was wonderful to see them put the past away and move toward the
future. Tonight was also not a night to focus on the outcomes of the
games, rather it was a night to focus on the reasons we play. We achieved
success through it all and that is the most wonderful thing about it! We
continue forward as we wrap up our season this week and we will remain strong
because our strength is found in Him.

October
11, 2007 -- Kiowa -- Home Match ::: THINK PINK
We've been looking
forward to this night the whole season! We played in honor of Breast
Cancer Survivors all over the country and also to raise money for cancer
research. It was an amazing reason to play and the girls really took it to
heart that they were playing for a great cause. The girls were decked out
in bright pink socks, bright pink ribbons and we almost got to play the whole
game with a bright pink volleyball!!! We also sold t-shirts, raffled off
volleyballs, and will be giving all proceeds to cancer research! One of
the highlights of the night was looking into the crowd and seeing a sea of
PINK! Thank you to EVERYONE that bought a shirt and supported the
cause!
The great thing about tonight was that we played for a great reason and both
teams walked away with the "W"!!! JV did great and after a tough
loss the game before, they pulled themselves together again so as to secure
ANOTHER win! They have been so great this year and have achieved some
amazing successes! The Varsity...well, we have determined that they just
LOVE playing so much so that they will take any game to FIVE (even when it's not
necessary!) :o) So yes, the Varsity girls made it interesting and
won in five games. It was fun to watch them play...to watch them
experience the highs and lows of the game...to watch them bring themselves back
from 6 individuals to a team of 1...to watch them all achieve great success
TOGETHER! But ladies, as your coaches who go a little more crazy with
every game that goes this way, we implore you....if you can win a game in three,
please do that! :o)

October
9, 2007 -- Pikes Peak Christian -- Home Match
**Parent's Night**
The season is
coming to a close...and with five matches left, the girls are fighting hard for
winning records. The JV girls have had such a great season so far and have
many successes to be very proud of. Tonight they struggled and got beat,
but only on the court. They continue to learn such valuable lessons and
increase their knowledge of the game...therefore, they remain successful!
We are so proud of you girls...remember to pursue excellence NO MATTER who's on
the court with you! Keep fighting hard! The Varsity girls enjoy the
game so much that they took this one to five! They played very strong and
had moments of incredible volleyball...and it was in these moments that they
secured the win. Great job ladies and let's keep the wins comin'
eh!?

October
5 and 6, 2007 -- Frontier Academy and Resurrection Christian -- Away Matches
Every year we go
on an overnight trip up to Loveland...and it always turns out to be amazing
fun!!! The girls had a wonderful time and they were all so great to be
around -- even for almost 48 hours!!! :o) It was so incredible this
year because we went up there and gave the best fights of our season so
far...and with that, came some of the best games we've played! Both JV and
Varsity alike did some AMAZING things on the court and proved that they are
getting better by the day. It's been pretty cool watching them grow into
great volleyball athletes. The JV girls took it to Frontier's JV and beat
them...we were SO proud of them for the great game they played. Then, the
next morning, they put up a fantastic fight against Rez again...but didn't quite
have enough left over from the night before to get the "W". They
are such a great group of girls....we sure love them! The Varsity had a
great weekend, too. For the first time in LHSP Volleyball history, we took
Frontier to 5 games. It was awesome. It could be said that it was
the games of their lives (so far!) and it was incredible to watch them
play. They gave a great fight and faced an amazing amount of adversity,
but unfortunately, they didn't get the win. I would say, though, that the
lessons learned that night far outweigh a little 'ol "w".
:o) The next morning they came out swinging and took a game away from Rez,
so easily! In that game, I'm not sure there was a team anywhere that could
have beat the Lady Lions! They gave a great fight, but just needed a
little more than they had and they didn't quite finish the win. As said
before, though, success is defined in so many other ways, and I can easily say
that we certainly attained success!
After our games at Rez, we went and watched our Football team beat Rez 66 to
34!!!! It was such a great game and the boys played AWESOME! The
girls enjoyed themselves and had a great time cheering on the boys!
Our day did not end there, though! After the Football game we went to CU
to watch Nebraska play the Buffs. What incredible D1 Volleyball THAT
was! I mean, Nebraska has two players that are 5 ' 10 " (and they are
the SHORTEST players on their team among many 6 ' 5 "'ers!!!) Yikes,
they were hitting the absolute stuffing out of the ball! It was a great
time and a great way to paint a vision of excellence for our own level of play.
So, yes, we could say that our weekend was a blast and that would not quite
encompass the true feelings that we had! Thanks girls for making it
wonderful and for the amazing things you do!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
October
2, 2007 -- Brighton Collegiate -- Home Match
Well, the Lady
Lions of Parker Lutheran did it again! We had another double win to
celebrate after our matches against the Hawks of Brighton Collegiate. It's
a rivalry of sorts, so I guess you could say that anytime we beat Brighton, it's
a good day! It was a fun night as all of our girls got on the court and
gained a lot of good playing experience...not to mention it was super fun
watching them succeed and perform extremely well! The JV made things a
little interesting and just barely won their second game (28-26!), but we are
very happy that they walked away with the win (no matter HOW it looked)!
The Varsity girls decided, before the match even started, that they were going
to show no mercy. I'd say they did a great job of maintaining their focus
on that goal!! Congrats, girls, on matches well played and matches
won!

September
28, 2007 -- Community Christian -- Away Match
What a
night...first, we get stuck in major traffic, than we go to the wrong school,
than we go to the right school but wrong entrance, and then FINALLY, we get to
the right school, right entrance...all while Coach is trying not to lose her
mind. Good thing her assistant is a very calm individual! In light
of the crazy way to start the evening, both the JV and the Varsity played great
matches against the Crusaders of Community Christian. The JV put another
win on their record making them now 9 wins and 1 loss. That is simply
incredible. This group of young volleyball players is doing a great job
and it is exciting to see them getting better by the day. As they are the
future of LHSP volleyball...wow, this is gonna be FUUUUUN! Great job,
ladies! The Varsity Lady Lions started their night off very slow with a
loss in the first game...but they didn't let this determine the rest of the
night. They came back swingin' and finished the match on an extreme
high! They walked away with the "W" last night and we saw some
awesome volleyball! These girls were not willing to settle for anything
less than their best! The most wonderful thing about these girls, is that
they are constantly being complimented by those that watch them play...whether
it be their Christian attitudes or the fact that no matter what, they are
enjoying their time on the court, it sure is wonderful to hear
nonetheless! Awesome job ladies....simply awesome. Keep it up!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
September
25, 2007 -- Campion Academy -- Away Match
Amidst adversity,
the Lady Lions shine. Going to Campion is always tough on the girls...I'm
not sure if it's the gym, the lighting, the lateness of games, the
crowd...whatever it is, history shows that this is a difficult place to
play. Both the JV and the Varsity walked away with the "W"
against Campion and we have secured our first league win! The girls keep
facing new and different challenges and learning the lessons to follow.
With each new situation, the girls come out of it stronger and better volleyball
players. It's nice that this time we were both successful in that and
successful with a win. These girls continue to improve and we have a whole
half of our season left! Great job, girls...let's keep making the
memories!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
September
22, 2007 -- Resurrection Christian -- Home Match
Be strong and
RESILIENT was our theme for the week and what a lesson in resiliency this
was! The girls played some amazing volleyball on Saturday evening against
"Rez"! The JV worked very hard and didn't give up easily, but
they just didn't have quite enough to seal the win. The Varsity is doing a
great job of being resilient and coming back for more and more great volleyball
with each game that they play. We are so proud of them for playing the
game they did on Saturday. Taking a game from Rez was certainly the
highlight of the night!!!
With
every match that comes and goes, we learn new things about how the girls work
together, what makes them successful, and what adjustments make our team
stronger. We all must remember that success isn't just how many wins we
have, it's about what we are learning along the way. I think we can all
agree that we have been successful so far this season and there is way more to
come! Be resilient girls...and in all things, glorify God --- That is
SUCCESS.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
September
18, 2007 -- Frontier Academy -- Home Match
Playing Frontier is always a very emotional game
and this year was no different. The girls played very hard and we saw them
continue to do great things! Congrats to the JV for achieving another
win! You guys continue to amaze us...remain strong and unified and don't
let up! Keep pursuing excellence! The Varsity girls continue to put
up great fights and this was a tough one! Each game was played to the max
and for the first time in LHSP volleyball history, we took a game from
Frontier! The girls have accomplished much and have come very far.
We learn lessons around every corner and this game taught us a lot! If we
remain open to the lessons and learn them as they come, well, in a way, that is
defining success. And...we are successful...no matter the outcome of the
match.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
September
15, 2007 -- Vail Christian -- Home Match
The Lady Lions are
seeing some great volleyball this year! Both the JV and the Varsity are
being challenged by their competition and with each match, the girls walk away
knowing more about the game, more about themselves as a team, and more about how
much they truly can accomplish! There are lessons around every corner and
every single match, as long as it is played for the right reasons, has a
successful outcome. On this fine Saturday filled with volleyball, the JV
girls walked away with ANOTHER win! They continue to work hard and improve
daily and it sure is fun to watch them play! The Varsity put up a good
fight against Vail Christian and played some pretty amazing defense, but they
just didn't quite have enough to walk away with the "W". They
were successful on many other fronts, such as learning more about playing as a
team, learning about mental toughness, learning about seeing the joy in playing
a great game of volleyball no matter the outcome...etc! These girls
continue to impress us as they pursue excellence and remain strong! They
are becoming more and more prepared with each day that passes by! Nice
work, ladies...never stop pursuing excellence!!!

September
11, 2007 -- Front Range Christian -- Home Match
Change is
inevitable in the athletic world and the Lady Lions of Lutheran Parker had to
deal with change tonight. On the JV team, a teammate played her first game
and the girls had to adjust to the new dynamics on the court. I must say,
they did a great job! The JV girls are so strong and are doing so many
wonderful things on the court and it is exciting to see them improve on a daily
basis. We are super proud of you girls for fighting the good fight and for
doing it so well! Keep up the fantastic work!! For the Varsity,
tonight came with some major adjustments! With two of our teammates out,
we had to play "outside of our comfort zone" for sure! We went 5
games with the Falcons of Front Range Christian and came out victorious in the
end! During this match, they had their moments of exhilarating highs along
with some moments of tired lows...but they remained strong and together they
accomplished a win! It is so awesome to see a group of girls play together
for one common goal and for uniting their hearts and efforts to achieve what
they have set out to do! These young women continue to amaze us!
Thanks ladies, JV and Varsity alike, for your dedication to excellence!!!
Keep it up!!!

September
5,6, and 7, 2007 -- Jefferson Academy, Rocky Mountain Lutheran, and Evangelical
Christian -- Away Matches
Holy COW!!!!
What a week this was! Three away matches in one week after Labor Day off
and only one practice....Yikes! The Lady Lions did fabulously all
week! With everything on their plates, they remained strong on the court
as well! Our Wednesday games at JA were very exciting games! JV did
awesome and walked away with their second win of the 2007 season! Congrats
girls! The Varsity played a very talented team and we fought hard!
Walking away with a loss didn't tear us down in the least! We were unified
through it all! JA paid a great compliment to the Lady Lions Volleyball
teams and made mention that they were so grateful to play great teams that had
God in the center of their lives. Girls - THAT is what it's all
about...THAT is making memories!
Rocky Mountain Lutheran was our next stop on our 2007 game
schedule and again, the Lady Lions showed their resiliency! Exhausted from
the late night before and having to leave school early for the second day in a
row was tough for the girls, but they rose above that and both teams walked away
with the big "W"! Girls, you have such a presence on the court
of unity and love and it is so obvious that volleyball is a passion in your
lives - even when you're so tired you can't even see straight!
Finally, we ended our crazy traveling week at Evangelical
Christian. Of course, being tired was inevitable, but you would have NEVER
guessed that these young ladies had played the two nights before as well!
They were ON FIRE!!!! The JV girls decided to make it very VERY super
SUPER exciting and took their match to three, winning their last game
26-24! What fun we had watching our JV girls play one of the best games
they have played yet! (How exciting is it that it was only match
#4!) The Varsity girls took the court after watching their JV win and they
were SOOOOO pumped up! It was very cool that the girls had control of the
game from the very first play of the game! It truly was incredible to
watch these girls maintain a level of excellence, playing as one for The One,
and all while have an amazingly fun time!! Walking away successful in all
things was the highlight of this night!
Ladies, we are so proud of you for the young women you
are...keep up the great work and remember this feeling because isn't it just
awesome!!!?!?!!! We love you!

August
30, 2007 -- Prairie View High School -- Home Match
The Lady Lions
started their 2007 season on a phenomenal note! They started the evening
off with a focus on unity in a team devotion led by our Senior setter.
From that moment on, you could NOT break these girls - both JV and Varsity
alike. They played TOGETHER from the moment they stepped on the court and
were incredibly amazing to watch. The JV walked away with a win and we are
all SO PROUD of them! Great job ladies - your hard work and team effort
are to be commended! The Varsity put up quite the fight! The girls
won the first game of the match and NEVER let up. The Prairie View girls
were a tough bunch and they swung hard on us...but we just kept diggin 'em!
We were swinging very hard, too, but they just kept diggin us! It
certainly was a high energy, mentally challenging, extremely exciting first
match!!! In the end, Prairie View left with the "W", but the
Lady Lions success was SO MUCH BIGGER than that "W". Ask the
girls - they'll tell ya! I am so very proud of these young ladies...this
season is going to be FUUUUUUUN!
