2018 Audition for LuHi's Jubilate Choir

We are excited that you are interested in auditioning for the Jubilate Choir. Here is what the audition will include:

1. A test of your range (see how high and how low you can sing)
2. Sing “Amazing Grace” unaccompanied
   1. You can sing it in whatever key you feel comfortable with.
   2. Prepare it as if you were preparing a solo to sing for a crowd.
   3. You only need to sing one verse
3. You will do two melodic sight readings and one rhythmic sight reading
   1. I will give you the starting note and play the scale of the key that the exercise is in
   2. You can sing it on the neutral syllables (la, lu, etc.) or on solfeg, numbers, etc.
   3. If you don’t have any experience with sight reading, don’t worry, just do your best
   4. There are samples of the sight reading exercises at the bottom to give you an idea of what to expect

All auditions will be held in the music room at Lutheran High School. If you cannot make it to one of these times, please contact me and we can arrange an alternate time to audition.
