Casual for a Cause Details for Friday | Email from Sept 4, 2025

As the name implies, Casual for a Cause is an optional opportunity for students to dress more casually in support of a good cause!

Lutheran High School Family,

Casual for a Cause Fridays - As the name implies, Casual for a Cause is an optional opportunity for students to dress more casually in support of a good cause! Students interested in participating are asked to pay $3.00 (cash or card) at the front door to receive a stamp. If students are in the building for early morning activities before the table is set up or if they arrive later and want to participate, we ask that they still pay for this privilege (either at the table or in the front office).

What Can Students Wear That’s Different for Casual for a Cause? - Thanks for asking! Generally speaking, students wear appropriate t-shirts with larger logos, sweatpants, and non-LuHi hoodies for Casual for a Cause days.

What Doesn’t Work for Casual for a Cause Days? - Casual for a Cause days are not a time for students to disregard other elements of the dress code. Hats or out-of-code piercings should not be worn. Students should not wear immodest (fingertip length still applies to shorts, skirts, and legging coverage), torn, or more leisurely attire (i.e. pajama pants, etc.). Students should not wear camouflage. Our footwear expectations (no Crocs, etc.) remain the same.

Other Casual for a Cause Details -

  • Students not participating are asked to be in the regular dress code. Thank you!

  • Casual for a Cause days will be on Fridays going forward unless otherwise shared or a special week is announced (Homecoming, etc.).

  • Even with additional choices for attire allowed on Casual for a Cause days, students in violation of our Dress and Appearance Code will be sent to the office for a conversation and to fix the issue immediately. There isn’t an option to return to class without the issue being addressed and fixed.

Thanks for honoring the intent and the purpose of these occasional and fun diversions that support good causes and ministry!

Serving Him,

David Ness
