What is the difference between FACTS, Canvas and Naviance?
- FACTS is our school information system (SIS). It houses all family contact information, student medical information, student attendance and behavior reports, locker assignments, grades (synced from Canvas), report cards, transcripts, etc. Both parents/guardians and students have access to their own separate accounts, which offer different access points to areas specific to the individual. Example: Parents/guardians have access to the enrollment dashboard and changing contact information; students do not have this access.
- Canvas is our learning management system (LMS). It houses all lesson plans, homework, grades, class calendars, has homework upload capabilities, online digital assignments, etc. Students have the main account, with parents receiving a pairing code from their student for Observer access to their student’s account.
- Naviance is for all things college prep. Used primarily by juniors and seniors (underclassmen use it occasionally), it gives students the capability to research and apply to different colleges, research and apply for different scholarships, create a college resume, take career path assessments, request transcripts (official and unofficial) and recommendation letters, etc. Only students have Naviance accounts. Parents/guardians do not get Naviance accounts.
