Dress Code for Senior Events, Caps & Gowns, Diplomas, etc. | Email from May 8, 2026
Dear Parents/Guardians of Seniors and Members of the Class of 2026,
Good morning! I wanted to share some additional information about upcoming senior events. More information will follow as we move through May.
Dress Code for Senior Blessings, & Baccalaureate/Graduation - Both Senior Blessings and our Baccalaureate/Graduation ceremony are important milestones in the lives of our students. Participation is a privilege for seniors extended to them by Lutheran High School. In an effort to maintain a high level of professionalism and convey the significance of these events, the following dress code will be in effect:
- Gentlemen must wear dress pants, socks, and dress shoes. A collared dress shirt must be worn with a tie. No jeans, tennis shoes, white socks, or non-collared shirts are allowed.
- Ladies must wear an appropriate skirt, dress, or dress pants with an appropriate top. Dress shoes (no flip-flops) must also be worn. No jeans, tennis shoes or white socks.
- Caps and Gowns: Flowers, pins and other accessories are not worn on graduation caps or gowns. Caps should be placed on the head so the mortarboard is nearly level. The cap is not worn on the back of the head. The tassel is worn on the right side. Caps and gowns will be worn at Baccalaureate/Graduation.
Treatment of Cap & Gown - The cap and gown are the property of the students and do not need to be returned to the school. The gown has been folded and is wrinkled. If necessary, use a garment steamer or cool iron, but be very careful as the fabric burns easily.
Diplomas & Transcripts - A reminder that tuition and any obligations or fees (fines, textbooks, service hours, etc.) must be taken care of before your son/daughter will receive their diploma and final transcripts will be mailed. If everything is current and nothing is owed, diplomas are handed out at Southeast Christian Church immediately following Baccalaureate/Graduation.
Cap Toss - For your planning purposes, we will proceed outside for a cap toss, weather permitting, following the event.
Decorating Caps and Gown Accessories - Our desire is to have a degree of uniformity at Baccalaureate/Graduation. Thanks for not adding writing, etc. to caps. Also, thanks for not adding leis, stoles, or other accessories (not awarded by Lutheran) to gowns.
Baccalaureate/Graduation Livestream - We will provide a link closer to graduation to be shared with family across the country to view our Baccalaureate/Graduation.
Thank You! - Thank you for allowing us the privilege of serving your student at Lutheran High School and for the support you have given them and the school. If you have any questions, please contact the school office at 303.841.5551 or at office@lhsparker.org or e-mail me at david.ness@lhsparker.org. We’ll be seeing you soon at our year-end events! Praise God for His faithfulness!
