We are excited to announce that Lutheran High School will be adding a Varsity Poms Team beginning in the 2026–27 school year!

This Varsity-level program will provide student-athletes the opportunity to represent Lutheran High School while competing and performing at a high level. As with all LuHi programs, Poms will be firmly rooted in the development of Christian character, leadership, teamwork, and excellence.

Because this is a Varsity-only team, athletes interested in trying out must demonstrate technical proficiency in the following areas:

Required Technical Skills

Turns

· Quad or 5 Pirouettes

· 4–8 eight-count sequences of tours

· À La Seconde combinations (changing spots, double tours, change of arms)

· Leg Hold Turn

Jumps & Leaps

· Switch Tilt Jump

· Double Toe Touch

· Leaps (Right, Left, Center)

· Calypso

Acro & Power Skills

· Aerial (from standing)

· Kip Up

Bonus / Advanced Skills
(Not required, but strengthen varsity placement and competitive impact)

· Aerial (both sides)

· Back & Front Walkovers

· Swing Aerial

· Butterfly Jump

· Scorpion

· 540 Jump

· Switch Ring Leap

· Snapdown

· Head Spring

Additional information regarding tryout dates, clinics, and preparation opportunities will be shared later this school year. As always, you can reach out to the athletic department with questions you may have, but few details are available at this time. We strongly encourage interested athletes to begin training now to meet the listed technical expectations.
