LuHi Theatre - Frozen Dance Workshops | Email from Aug 18, 2026

FROZEN Info - In case you haven't heard (probably unlikely, ha!) our winter musical is Frozen! Auditions aren't until November but I know some of you are chomping at the bit to get started so please keep reading if you are interested in auditioning.

First up: Frozen Dance Workshops!

Becca (our choreographer) is offering a series of three dance workshops to help get you prepared for Frozen auditions in November. She will cover the various styles of dance that are performed in the show. If you are interested in attending please sign up ASAP here. It's not required but certainly helpful if you have jazz shoes. Please bring these to the workshops. If you do not have dance shoes you will need to wear closed toed tennis shoes. Also wear athletic gear, NO jeans, short shorts, crop tops or spaghetti strap tanks, etc. You will be moving A LOT and we want clothing to stay modest. Thanks. These are free workshops but you MUST sign up.

  • Aug 28 - 4:30-6:00pm
  • Sep 18, 5:00-6:30pm
  • Oct 23, 4:30-6:00pm

Next up: Sven (the reindeer) Audition Prep

The adorable, fun loving reindeer and pal to Kristoff, Sven! No, we are not auditioning for him now. However, we do want to get this information out now to anyone interested in potentially auditioning for him in November.

Sven is perhaps the most physically demanding character an actor will ever play. This is no joke. If you know LuHi theatre, you know we aim for professionalism and Frozen is no exception. Our goal is to portray Sven the same way the Broadway production does. This means actors interested in auditioning for Sven need a lot of time working on strength training and stamina before auditions in November. Yes, you do need to start training now. We’ve always told you, actors are athletes and Sven is the prime example of this truth. This role will require a strong commitment to time in the gym and learning to create the physicality of a real life reindeer.

Auditions for Sven are open to all LuHi students, whether you’ve done theatre before or not. Sven can be played by a male or a female.

This is the ONLY character we are working on right now. The full character list and audition requirements for Frozen will be shared a bit later this semester and take place in November.

If you are interested in potentially auditioning for Sven in November or simply want more info on what is required, please fill out this form asap and we will send you more detailed information. https://forms.gle/w87YzBMjggDkdaFU8
