Multiplier and Sports Classification Update | Email from Feb 17, 2026

Dear LuHi Families,
In September this past year, we shared information regarding the passing of the ADM-3 enrollment multiplier and the potential impact it could have on Lutheran High School athletics. At that time, classification ranges had not yet been finalized, and we committed to providing an update once additional information became available.

We are now writing to share that both the ADM-3 multiplier and the Classification & League Organizing Committee (CLOC) recommendations have officially been approved. As a result, Lutheran High School will compete in the highest classification in all CHSAA-sponsored sports for the 26-28 cycle, with the exception of football, which will move up to the 4A division. On the next page, we have listed our sports by season paired with the classification each sport will compete in during the next 26-28 cycle.

We recognize that this represents a significant change for many of our programs. Competing in the highest classification brings new challenges, including increased travel, deeper competitive fields and the largest schools our state has to offer. At the same time, it also provides opportunities for growth, development and continued excellence.

Throughout this process, our athletic department has remained actively engaged in conversations with CHSAA leadership, league representatives and fellow private schools. While we strongly advocated for our position in opposition to the multiplier, we also prepared for the possibility of this outcome. Our focus now is on ensuring that our student-athletes are supported, equipped and positioned to succeed in this new landscape.

As we move into higher classifications, we believe the most important controllable factor in our success is strength and conditioning. Over the past few months, we have communicated major improvements to our Team Strength program, including increased participation opportunities, new technology and sport-specific training. Our department is fully committed to this investment, as we believe it directly supports performance, durability, and long-term development.

Our commitment remains unchanged. Lutheran High School Athletics will continue to provide a
Christ-centered, mission-driven experience while developing student-athletes spiritually, academically and athletically. No classification, policy change or external decision alters who we are or why we compete.

We are grateful for your continued trust, partnership and support. If you have questions regarding
classifications or specific programs, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Athletic Department.
Thank you for standing with us as we move forward together.
