PSAT Testing Day | Emails from October 8, 2026

Lutheran High School is offering PSAT testing to Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors on Thursday, October 8, 2026. There is no cost to LuHi families. Details vary by grade — see the section that applies to your student below.

Quick Reference by Grade

Juniors

The PSAT/NMSQT is highly encouraged for Juniors — it's the best way to qualify for a National Merit Scholarship.

• Testing window: 8–11 AM, check-in 7:15–7:40 AM
• Bring your own device: Windows laptop/tablet, Mac laptop, or iPad — Chromebooks are not allowed. Device must hold a charge for about 3 hours.
• Bluebook app: Students must install and test the Bluebook testing app before test day. Setup instructions will be sent as the date approaches.
• No personal device? Reserve a school computer [here] by Wednesday, September 30. Availability is limited.
• Registration: LuHi will send student info (name, grade, gender, birthdate) to College Board on September 25. A seat is reserved for every Junior.
• Opting out: Parents can opt a student out [here]. Once opted out of the October 2026 PSAT, you cannot opt back in.
• Campus access: Students may only be on campus during their assigned testing window and should leave within 15 minutes of finishing.
• No shuttle service will run on October 8.

Sophomores

The PSAT/NMSQT is highly encouraged for Sophomores as practice for the Junior-year PSAT/NMSQT, which offers National Merit Scholarship qualification.

• Testing window: 12–3 PM, check-in 11:15–11:40 AM
• Bring your own device: Same requirements as Juniors — Windows, Mac, or iPad; no Chromebooks; charge for ~3 hours.
• Bluebook app: Same as above — install and test beforehand; instructions to follow.
• No personal device? Reserve a school computer [here] by Wednesday, September 30.
• Registration: Student info will be shared with College Board on Friday, September 25.
• Opting out: Same policy as Juniors — parent-submitted form [here]; no opting back in once submitted for this test date.
• Campus access and shuttles: Same as Juniors — assigned window only, leave within 15 minutes, no shuttles running.

Freshmen

Freshmen will take the PSAT 8/9 — a free digital practice exam offered through Revolution Prep, designed to build familiarity with the digital test format ahead of the official PSAT in Junior year.

• Format: Fully online, proctored via Zoom — freshmen do not report to campus.
• Session times (choose based on last name):
  • 8–11 AM MT — last names A–K
  • 12–3 PM MT — last names L–Z
• Enrollment: LuHi will enroll students directly with Revolution Prep — no action needed. This shares parent name/email/phone and student name/LuHi email with Revolution Prep to create the student's account.
• Results: Students get a score report showing three high-impact focus areas per section (math, reading, writing), viewable anytime on the Revolution Prep dashboard. Families can also request a complimentary results review with an Academic Advisor. Scoring is unofficial and not reported anywhere — it's purely for skill-building.
• Communications: After October 1, families will start getting emails (and possibly texts/calls) from Revolution Prep with exam details and login info.
• Opting out: Families who don't want info shared with Revolution Prep, or whose student won't test, can opt out [here] by Wednesday, September 30.

Seniors

Seniors will not report to campus on October 8. Ms. Noffze will provide recommendations for how seniors should use the day.
