PSAT/NMSQT TESTING day info for Juniors | Email from Oct 9, 2025

Dear LuHi Juniors and Parents,

Testing for the PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is highly encouraged for Juniors. This digital Practice SAT will introduce you to the digital testing format and provide an opportunity for Juniors to qualify for a National Merit Scholarship (this is the best way a Junior can qualify for this scholarship).

Testing day and time for LuHi Juniors is Thursday, October 23rd 8-11 AM (check-in 7:15-7:40 AM)

For the actual SAT you will bring your own computer. Please plan on taking the PSAT with your own computer; one you are comfortable with.
Your computer must meet the following requirements:

  • Windows laptop or tablet

  • Mac laptop

  • iPad

  • Testing device must have sufficient charge to last a duration of about 3 hours.

  • You will need to add- and test- the testing App, Bluebook prior to testing. Further instructions regarding Bluebook will be sent as the testing date approaches.

  • This can NOT be a personal Chromebook

ACTION #1 (if needed): If you do not have a personal computer that meets the above criteria, you will need to reserve a school computer here. School computers are limited. Please reserve a computer no later than Friday, October 17th.

ACTION #2 (if applicable): All LuHi Juniors will be registered to take the PSAT on October 23rd. Student information (Name, Grade, Gender, Birthdate) will be sent to College Board. Attendance is taken on testing day and a seat is reserved for each Junior on testing day. If your student does not plan on testing with us, a parent may opt out of testing here. The form must be filled out by a parent. Once you opt-out of testing October 2025, you will not be able to opt back in to the October 2025 PSAT.

Students will only be allowed on campus during their assigned testing time. Please arrive within the check-in window and plan on leaving campus within 15 minutes of testing conclusion.

Shuttles will not be running on Thursday, October 23rd.

More info and details to follow the week of October 13th.
