Report Card FAQs
What if I never received a report card?
A missing report card usually means there's an outstanding obligation — missing books, uniforms, or performance attire; incomplete service hours; or unpaid tuition/fees. You should have already heard from a teacher if this applies to you.
Please call the school office at 303-841-5551 and they'll point you to the right person. Don't reply to the report card email directly.
How do I read the three grade columns?
- Column 1 — Cumulative semester grade (homework, tests, quizzes, etc.)
- Column 2 — Final exam grade
- Column 3 — Combined final grade (this is what appears on the transcript)
If Column 2 is blank, either the class had no final exam or the teacher folded the exam score into Column 1 — in that case, Columns 1 and 3 will match. Email the teacher directly with any questions about specific grades.
What if the "Final Grade" column empty?
That column is for schools that combine both semesters into a single year-end grade. LuHi doesn't do this, so you can ignore it entirely.
What if the report card match what I see in Canvas/FACTS?
The gradebook in FACTS may not include the final exam, so it doesn't always reflect the true semester grade. The report card is the official grade — it combines semester work and the final exam.
What does an "I" or "Inc" grade mean?
It means your student has work or an exam still to complete. The grade will be updated once everything is submitted. For second semester Theology specifically, an "I" means service hours haven't been turned in yet.
What if a class listed twice?
This happens when a student switches class periods mid-year — it doesn't affect the grade or transcript. The Lights Academy class may also appear twice since it spans two periods, but only one grade will show.
How do I read the GPA section?
You'll see three GPA rows at the bottom of the report card:
- Term GPA — Weighted GPA for the semester (honors classes count as weighted)
- Term UGPA — Unweighted GPA for the semester
- Cumulative GPA — Weighted GPA for your student's full high school career; this is what appears on the transcript and what most colleges and scholarships use
What about grades for online or college classes?
These won't appear in the FACTS gradebook, but they will show up on the transcript once LuHi receives an official transcript from the outside institution. Driver's Ed grades are sent to LuHi directly. For a personal copy of grades from an outside class, reach out to that school.
Who do I contact with grade questions?
Email the teacher directly — their contact information is on the school website, in FACTS, and in Canvas.
