No, we do not have a school nurse on campus.
What if my student needs to take medicine throughout the day?
We do allow students to carry and self-administer over the counter and prescription medication as long as they have parental permission.
Parents should list any over the counter or prescription medications they allow their student to carry and self-administer. If medications change during the school year, FACTS should be updated as soon as possible. A student may also receive over the counter medication from the office as long as parent consent is on file. The office can also hold prescription or over the counter medication for a student at the request of the parents/guardians.
What if my student gets sick or hurt?
Students should let the front office know if they get sick or hurt during the school day. If necessary, arrangements will be made by the front office with the parents for the student to go home.
If a student is injured, the school will take appropriate action. Following the injury, the student should go to the office and ask for an accident-report form. The student should complete this form with the teacher who was supervising the activity.
What if there is a medical emergency?
- The parents/guardians will be contacted at home or work.
- The family doctor listed on the medical form will be contacted if necessary.
- 911 will be contacted for an emergency vehicle. If the situation appears life-threatening, this will be the first step.
