Senior Portrait Information | Email from June 23, 2025

Hello,
My name is Mark Hollenbeck. I am the advisor for the LuHi Yearbook. Congratulations! Your student has arrived at their Senior year of high school! It is an exciting time and it comes with a few extra responsibilities! Keep reading!
Historically, when a student becomes a senior they have a professional photo session with a professional photographer. The photos are used for various things throughout the year, the main one being their portrait in the yearbook that comes out in the Spring. A professional photographer can feel expensive, but definitely worth it in my opinion. However there are other options. If you are having a portrait session with a professionalThis is good. You'll be happy you did. Oftentimes they will send the image directly to me. I will return an email confirming it was received. If you do not wish to hire a photographer:This is okay too. It is 2025, after all, and the digital age is booming. You are welcome to take your own, just please follow the protocol seen below.

Requirements for Photos:
In order to avoid snags and keep clean uniformity, please make sure your portrait meets the following criteria:
  • digital file, and it must be a jpeg file!!!!!  (Very Important)

  • high resolution ( at least 500kb) or (no lower than 300 dpi)

  • Basic frontal (head and shoulders), vertical, 4 x 6

  • No props, pets or hats etc..
  • Full color (no black and white)
  • In Dress Code

            * name the file "LAST NAME, FIRST NAME"

Due Date:

Although Jostens has not given me a firm due date yet, mid-October is the usual deadlineIt's earlier than you might think. I can explain why if you want. Please mark it on your calendar. Email if you have questions.

Recommended Photographers:
Any photographer is fine, but I do keep a short list of photographers who have worked with LuHi for a long time and in various ways. I vouch for them and their work and strongly recommend them. See the attachment for info.
How to Submit Your Photo:

1. Email me the photo as an attachment. yearbook@lhsparker.org
- Make sure to name it "LAST NAME, FIRST NAME"
Please note that you will send your senior's photo and baby pics to me at yearbook@lhsparker.org.
Thanks for reading all this. Don't delete it. I will be sending the same information 3 more times before the October deadline . If we still have heard no response we'll be making phone calls and/or pulling your senior out of class to see what's going on. Hopefully it doesn't come to that but we do aim to have every senior represented and looking Lion sharp!
