Student-Parent Handbook & Dress Code - As a family, please take time to review our Student-Parent Handbook (updated this summer) under Current Family Information on our website. I especially encourage you to read the Dress and Appearance Code that begins on page 24 (It is also a stand alone document at Dress Code under “Other Forms”). Dress code is an item that is addressed regularly at LuHi. You’ll be hearing more from our Deans shortly!
2026-2027 Theme Verse - Our theme verse this year is from Colossians 3:12-13 (NIV) which says, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
Pastor Daniel Vanderhyde, our Campus Pastor writes, “Jesus has given us new clothes to wear! Through Saint Paul he says, ‘clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another…’ We want to live this way, but it’s not easy. Thankfully, God doesn’t just tell us how to live; He also empowers us to do it. He has made us His children and is conforming us to the image of His Son. Our theme verse begins with a beautiful description of who we are already: chosen, holy, and dearly loved. God chose you even before He created the world (Ephesians 1:4). He made you holy by the death of His Son on the cross (Colossians 1:22). He has loved you and made you His child (1 John 3:1). So when He calls you to clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, etc., He is not telling you to make yourself into something new. He is calling you to live in the new life He has already given to you by faith in Christ. This year, may God help us to get comfortable in these new clothes; especially in the forgiveness He continues to give when we trip and fall. His love never fails.”
