Lutheran High School Family,
Summer Greetings! I say this often, but I love typing the word Family at the beginning of messages. Whether you are returning or starting at LuHi in the fall, my prayer is that the Lutheran High School community would feel like a family and be a welcoming place to learn, pursue excellence, and grow in faith. I’ll be sending Family emails throughout the summer to get calendar and back-to-school items on your radar, along with important reminders.
As always, our website (lhsparker.org) is the most valuable source of information and we encourage both students and families to use it as a regular resource. For example, items referenced in this email can be found under Current Family Information.
Calendars - Please find our Academic Calendar and Year-at-a-Glance calendars on our website under Current Family Information. We highly recommend posting these calendars in prominent places as you plan family vacations and regularly consult them for life at LuHi!
Thanks for always following our website calendar as there can be changes during the year.
Important: Two First Days - We will have two first days of school this year to allow for an introduction to life on campus before the following Monday (our first full week of school). Students not scheduled will not have school on that day.
-
Thursday, August 14 (Full Day) - Freshmen & Sophomores only
-
Friday, August 15 (Full Day) - Juniors & Seniors only
Service Hours - The “Saved to Serve” program is our offering to our Lord in thanksgiving for His saving grace to us. We are blessed to be able to serve and ask that all students complete twenty (20) hours of service during each year of attendance at LHS. These hours will be facilitated by the theology faculty and completed prior to the end of the school year (by May 1). Students are welcome to start or complete their hours this summer. For more information, please refer to the email sent June 13 by Mr. Kohlwey, our Director of Campus Ministries.
Supply List - Please review our recommended supply list for the 2025-2026 school year (on our website under Current Family Information - please scroll down to Forms).
As you’ll read on the Supply List, “At the high school level, course-specific supplies do not have to be purchased before the start of the school year. You may wait to purchase items after receiving more detailed information from teachers the first week of school or until individual class schedules are finalized.”
Used LuHi Apparel Sale - You are invited to come shop the Used LuHi Apparel Sale, August 4, from 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the front entrance of Lutheran High School! All proceeds benefit the LuHi Wrestling Program. They can take cash and card payment.
They are still accepting donations of gently used LuHi-branded clothing. Please drop items off in the Front Office, Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Questions? Contact Suki Martinez at sukimtz@gmail.com
Thank You! - Thank you so much for entrusting your students to the ministry of Lutheran High School. Thanks for praying for our Lutheran High School Family in advance of the 2025-2026 school year! God’s blessings on your summers!
Serving Him,
David Ness
