An email from Mr Ness including student schedules and senior privileges.
Lutheran High School Family,
Student Schedules - With the admissions process continuing through the summer, it helps to build the master schedule (when classes are offered) closer to the beginning of school to ensure balanced classes. Student schedules will be viewable in FACTS (student information system) and are scheduled for release the week of August 4-8. Details about making any changes to student schedules will be shared at that time.
Canvas for New Students - Mr. Tim Thomack, our Dean of Academics writes, "Welcome new LuHi families! At Lutheran High we utilize Canvas as our Learning Management System. This online software is the primary resource for all of our courses. It is the one-stop shop for information about Grades, Assignments, Due Dates, and Course Files for your student's classroom experience. Currently, your new student's Canvas account is still being built as we fine-tune the master schedule for the fall semester. Completion of the master schedule is well underway and scheduled to be released the week of August 4-8. Access to your student's Canvas account or setup of parent accounts prior to the completion of the master schedule will not be possible; however, the setup of lhsparker email addresses is complete (for students enrolled before June 30) and completing the initial login process into your new school email address is a very important step in the orientation process that can be completed at your earliest convenience. Access the initial email sent during the summer to your parent(s) email address on file and follow the steps to perform the initial login. Thank you for your patience and understanding around these timelines.”
“Additionally, all new students will be supported through the Canvas login process and guided through the basics of Canvas during New Student Orientation on Wednesday, August 13th. More information and tutorials for both parents and students will be emailed during the week leading up to school and following. Furthermore, our Canvas team has a presence at Back-to-School Night and Parent-Teacher Conferences throughout the year for all your troubleshooting needs! Finally, we are always here to support you and your student via email at canvas@lhsparker.org."
2025 Freshman Retreat Information - Mr. Jonathan Schlecht, Assistant Principal, LuHi Teacher, and Freshman Retreat Coordinator writes, "The mission of the Freshman Retreat is simple: Gather. Connect. Experience Jesus. This retreat brings the freshman class away from distractions into God's creation to spend intentional time together forming new friendships, enjoying activities in the mountains, and diving into God's Word! I'm excited to have Ms. Elizabeth Hoffman, LuHi Science Teacher, helping provide retreat leadership. This is an all-day event where the freshman class piles into a few buses and travels to the mountains! We leave early in the morning and return later in the evening.”
“This year, we will be going to Camp Timberline! The female students will be on Thursday, August 21, and the male students will be on Friday, August 22. There is no cost to families. I will be sending more information as we get closer to the retreat!”
Senior Privileges - Our Student-Parent Handbook states, “LHS is a closed campus. This means students may not leave school before the designated closing time without permission from the office. All seniors are given Seniors Privileges to leave campus unless those privileges are revoked for academic or behavioral reasons. Parents have the option to opt their student out of Senior Privileges by notifying the front office in writing.” Please email office@lhsparker.org. Thank you!
Serving Him,
David Ness
