Lutheran High School Family,

2025-2026 Theme Verse - Our theme verse this year is from Hebrews 12:1-2 (ESV) which says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Pastor Daniel Vanderhyde, our Campus Pastor writes, “In Hebrews 12:1-2, life is described as a race. The Christian journey is not a sprint, but a long-distance test of endurance. We struggle with our own shortcomings as well as the pain and harm done to us by others. How does a Christian endure? By looking to Jesus, ‘the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross…’. We have a great cloud of witnesses who have gone before us, like a stadium cheering us on as we approach the finish. By faith those witnesses followed the same path Jesus had traveled, through suffering and into eternal life. By faith we also are led by Jesus, who is the founder and perfecter. Our faith is a gift through His Holy Spirit, and we are being shaped and formed according to His plan. This school year we pray for Christ’s presence among us. We ask Him to help us ‘lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely,’ ridding us of anything that would distract or become an obstacle to our faith in Him. By His word and sacraments He is perfecting (completing) our faith and bringing us toward the finish line. God bless our journey together this year!”

New Student Orientation & Pizza Lunch - All new students (freshmen and students transferring to LuHi) are expected to be at our New Student Orientation on Wednesday, August 13, from 9:00 AM – Noon. In addition to welcoming students to school, we have a number of presenters sharing about academics, integrity, faith, extra-curriculars, dress code, punctuality, behavior expectations, Canvas, etc. Students will receive class schedules and get tours of the building from Student Council members to help become familiar with things at Lutheran. Students should be in dress code at New Student Orientation. We’ll end our time together with Little Caesar’s pizza. Students may be picked up at noon or just after.

2025-2026 Bell Schedule - For students returning to Lutheran High School, our bell schedule is staying the same.
