After graduating from Concordia University Wisconsin in 1995, Dan Gehrke served at Denver Lutheran High School as a math and theology teacher for eleven years. During those years, he was the varsity baseball coach and a C/JV basketball coach. He is now a member of the Metro League Coaches Hall of Fame. After completing his master’s degree in educational administration in 2005, he became principal at DLHS prior to the 2006-2007 school year. Dan has extensive administrative training, participating in the Association of Lutheran Secondary Schools Leadership Training and 10 Talent Visionary Leadership programs. He and his wife Kristin have three children: Ellie, Asher, and Emma.
David Ness grew up on a farm in Minnesota where he learned the importance of family, heritage, faith, and Christian education. He graduated from the University of Minnesota – Morris with degrees in History and Social Science Education. As a history teacher, he taught in both Minnesota and North Dakota, serving his previous ten years at Oak Grove Lutheran School in Fargo. While at Oak Grove, he completed his master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Minnesota State University – Moorhead. In addition to teaching and coaching, he served in various administrative roles including Assistant Principal, Academic Dean, Middle School Principal, and Director of Campus Ministries. David began serving as Principal at Lutheran High School in 2010. His family is grateful for the prayers and support of many and their Heavenly Father’s daily provisions and grace. David and his wife Sara are the proud parents of Daniel, Samuel, and Rachel.
John Rinks came to LuHi in 2015 after 15 years at one of the largest Christian PS-12 school systems in southern California. He was development director there for 9

Cheryl graduated from St. John's College with an Associates Degree in Business in 1980. She started working at Lutheran High School in 1998 as the Attendance Secretary for Denver Lutheran before becoming the Development Assistant for the Association office in 2007. She and her husband, Tim, have four children who are Denver Lutheran High alumni, three are Lutheran school teachers and one is a nurse. Outside of work Cheryl enjoys DIY projects and spending time with their three grandchildren.
Karen Dyson graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC with a BA in Business Administration.
She worked as an administrative assistant at Centura Health before coming to Lutheran High School in 2015.
After living all over the world growing up as an Air Force brat, Karen and her husband Fred have called Parker home since 1995. They have been part of the LuHi family since 2008 and are the proud parents of Kaylee, Matt, Emily and Mary.
The teachers at LuHi are some of the most extraordinary people I’ve ever met in my life. They’re not just your teacher, they’re your friend, counselor, helper, and someone who you know loves and cares about you. The staff at LuHi is what makes it so great and so special, like no other school.
