If your student will be arriving late, leaving early, leaving school for an appointment, or will be absent (due to illness, family vacation, or other reasons) please:

Course Applications for 2022-2023 Classes

Cheer Open Gym and Tryouts for 2022-2023 Season

Open Gym Dates:

All dates will take place in the Lutheran Gym. Please wear appropriate shorts/t-shirt/cheer or athletic shoes/hair up/no nails or jewelry.

  • April 18th: 6:30-7:30 incoming 8th graders, 7:30-8:30 current Lutheran students 9-11th grade
  • April 25th: 6:30-7:30 incoming 8th graders, 7:30-8:30 current Lutheran students 9-11th grade
  • May 2nd: 6:30-7:30 incoming 8th graders, 7:30-8:30 current Lutheran students 9-11th grade
Payment is $10 per open gym. Checks made out to Lutheran Athletics - Memo: Cheer Given to Coaches at Open Gym. One time $40 payment can be made at 1st Open Gym. No refund for missed dates.

Tryout Dates:

  • Tuesday, May 3rd 6:30-8:30 PM (please arrive early to turn in paperwork): Collect Paperwork, Review of Tryout Material, Tryout Number Assigned
  • Wednesday, May 4th 6:30-8:30 PM: Tryout Group Assigned with Tryout Time, Open practice w/ Tryout Group
  • Thursday, May 5th 6:30-8:30 PM: Formal Tryout Thursday Attire: black shorts, black shirt, high pony with bow, light makeup, red lipstick, athletic/cheer shoes

Tryouts will be conducted in front of a Judging Panel to evaluate: Standing Tumbling, Running Tumbling, Jumps, Stunts, Motions, dance, cheer, sideline and Interview. By Thursday night before 8:30 pm, results will be provided by a letter offering a position on JV or Varsity. Placements are final.

Tryout scores will be provided by Monday, May 9, 2022 to the email provided on the form. The Coaching staff will be available to communicate regarding scores on May 9th between 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm by phone.

Other Notes about Senior Finals

  • Finals for lunch periods 5A and 5B will occur simultaneously as the first finals on Friday.
  • Final testing for seniors is at the High School in the Gym.
  • Friday dress code for seniors during finals.
  • Seniors should park in the lower parking lots near the sports fields (as available) and enter through the downstairs entrance near the gym.
  • Seniors waiting for their next final to start will gather in classroom 022B (downstairs across the hall from the west entrance to the gym)
  • Students may not take finals earlier than May 19 without approval from Mr. Thomack.
  • Students may not move finals on 5/19 and 5/20 unless prior approval from Mr. Thomack. (Students with accommodation plans will be accommodated according to a plan created with the support and guidance of their Access teacher)
  • Seniors should bring something to work on if they finish an exam early as they are required to stay for the 90-minute period.
  • Headphones may not be used during exams, but may be allowed after a test is submitted.
  • Students participating in postseason athletics (i.e. State Track, playoff games) who are able to test on either Thursday or Friday are allowed to fill their day with testing. They must take tests at required times, but may also fill-in openings with tests from the day they will not be present. They must be present for the full 90 minutes.
  • Student-Athletes participating in athletics with conflicts on Thursday and/or Friday (along with other seniors who have made a request) will take any additional finals the following week in available classrooms.
  • All students will need to be done with finals in time for graduation rehearsal on Tuesday, May 25. (Details to follow)

Shuttle Transportation and Carpool Information

LuHi offers shuttle transportation to and from school from 7 different locations. The daily fee to use the shuttle is $5 (for both one-way and round-trip). Monthly usage will be recorded and families will be billed at the end of the month.
