The LuHi Football Program’s foundation is Building Christian Men of Character, and focuses on helping student athletes be great on and off the field. Through the past 6 years Lutheran has seen continued success on the field as well as sending athletes to numerous colleges to continue their careers at the next level.
Dylan Johnson
Dylan has over 10 years of coaching and officiating under his belt. He has been part of the LuHi football staff since 2018. Besides coaching, Dylan serves as LuHi's Assistant Athletic Director. He shares, "My experience in coaching here has been a highlight of my coaching career. I cannot wait to give back to the school that has given me so much over the years."
Derek Johnson
Derek coached Parker Hawks youth football for 7 seasons before joining the LuHi Football staff as the Head C Team Coach in 2018. Since then he served as Head JV coach and eventually became the Varsity Defensive Coordinator in 2020. He has been married for 21 years to his wife Meredith and together they have four children, who are former, current, and future Luhi students; Bryce ('22), Cole ('24), Libby ('26) and Edie ('30). Coach Johnson has also been a practicing orthopedic surgeon at Parker Adventist Hospital since 2009.
Nate Smock
Besides coaching, Nate also serves as LuHi's Team Strength Director.
Jim Holdridge
Jim is married to Kim Holdridge, and together they have four children - 3 LuHi grads and one currently attending LuHi. Jim has been coaching football since 1980, mostly at the youth level but with some time coaching at the high school age teams. Since moving to Colorado in 2003, he has been the Head Coach for nine years and three different teams in the AYL - Highlands Ranch Warriors Organization (2007 - 2014 and 2020 - 2021). He served as a Parent Coordinator for LuHi football from 2015 to 2017. He has also been an assistant baseball coach for the Parker Hawks and the Parker Pound Baseball teams for the past five years.
Jim shares, "I thoroughly enjoy coaching young athletes and watching them grow to love the sport and learn life lessons that build character, perseverance, and the value of teamwork working with others to be part of something greater than self. The life lessons gained from football help prepare student-athletes for life, work, and relationships. I am encouraged and excited to support the development of young men at Lutheran High School, where Christian faith is the focus of the entire program and the school."
