Matt Buchholz
Coach Matt Buchholz graduated from Concordia University, Nebraska, where he played on the men’s basketball team. His competitive drive and desire to teach young men what it means to be Christian Athletes led him to start coaching. Matt’s high school basketball coach largely influenced him and had a positive impact on his life; Matt hopes to give back to LuHi students in a similar fashion.
Matt Elmshauser
Matt has been coaching at LuHi for 11 years. He shares, "I played soccer throughout high school and for 4 years collegiately. Being a part of this program and seeing the growth from within has been a joy. I truly love coaching these boys and hope to continue to provide guidance, wisdom, and encouragement throughout this coming season."
Tim Thomack
Coach Thomack has been a soccer coach for 11 years, 7 of those years have been with LuHi. He was a four-year college soccer athlete at a D3 school, Concordia University, Wisconsin. He shares, "I love soccer. I enjoy the unique experience coaching gives me to walk alongside these young men and mentor them as they mature."
Walt Nichols
Coach Walt has been coaching competitive soccer for 13+ years. He was a varsity athlete at the University of Notre Dame a really long time ago, and he has coached at most of the large clubs in and around Denver. Coach Walt and his lovely wife, Jill, have 4 kids: Landon and Logan attend Lutheran now, and their two daughters are in 4th and 3rd grade. Manchester City (or really wherever Pep Guardiola is coaching) is Coach Walt's favorite club.
Josh Shull
Josh is a recent graduate from Concordia Wisconsin where he played 4 years of soccer. Before college, Josh played at a very high club level in his hometown of Evansville, Indiana. He shares, "This is my first year coaching, but I am excited to begin this new role. I am looking forward to being a part of the LuHi family and helping the boys grow as players and men of God. I hope to encourage a love for the game, positive teamwork, and strong leadership."
